What to expect
Your First Visit: New patients experience a sense of ease and understanding after entering a treatment program with Fernandes Acupuncture and Chinese
Herbal Medicine. The value of this medical system in addressing your condition is discussed in addition to educating patients on how to bring about change
in your health and condition.
During the initial visit, an extensive and thorough evaluation of the condition and health history is taken through questioning. The tongue is looked at and
pulse is taken as part of diagnostic tools used. Your practitioner will form a diagnosis, develop a treatment plan and apply an acupuncture treatment. If
using Chinese Herbal Medicine, formulas are prepared afterwards and ready within a week.
Patients will generally find the treatment very relaxing and often fall asleep. We may apply adjunctive therapies, such as heat, which is soothing and very
beneficial for many conditions. We educate patients in other additional means of addressing the condition such as Chinese nutrition, stretches and
exercises or various forms of stress management.
Your initial visit is the stepping stone to resolving your medical condition and restoring your health. As a team, we will work together to address the
underlying issues and truly begin to bring about change in your health.
